The 20th anniversary of 9/11 has come and gone with no significant reexamination, possibly due to the Covid pandemic. Before too many people die, a serious examination is needed prior to the 25th anniversary. Such reexamination needs to include the Twin Tower bombing on 2/26/93, the 30th anniversary of which we will commemorate on to 2/26/23.
Before beginning this long history, let’s pause to explain the title of this document.
In terms of maximizing American Deaths, the hijackers picked the worst nonholiday weekday. 9/11/01 was a day for local elections, on which voters were able to take at least two hours off of work to vote. How many Twin Tower workers took the time for voting on the morning of 9/11/01? Has anybody ever estimated the percentage of workers who were absent the morning of 9/11/01? It was likely to be somewhere between 10 to 30 percent. If the attack had occurred on the next day, 9/12/01, there would have been more direct death as well as congested stairways increasing the time to evacuate.
The Holocaust was the primary reason the UN created Israel after WWII. Millions of Palestinians were forced to flee to the Gaza Strip or were forced into refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan. By 1967, most of Israel’s Arab neighbors had gathered a massive military force to “uncreate” Israel. Israel’s 6-day preemptive strike exhausted its munitions. The West’s resupply effort was supposed to discreetly happen at night. Instead, during the morning, Palestinians cursed each plane that landed. In 1968, Sirhan Sirhan, a disgruntled Palestinian, murdered Robert Kennedy, who was well on his way to becoming President instead of Richard Nixon.
For the people of a country or region not to repeat history, they need to fully understand the details of that history. (For example, Germany made a complete reversal after WWII which is now only beginning to fray due to immigration.) What plans did the massive Arab military forces have for the Jews living in Israel? Was it another “final” solution, deportation to the West, confinement in refugee camps, or some combination of these?
After the garage bombing at one of the Twin Towers on 2/26/93, most people believed it was just a smoke bomb that killed six people. Bill Clinton, when he learned the true intention of the Arab bombers of the Twin Tower, failed to alert the public. If all the materials of the bomb had exploded in the proper location, the tower would have toppled over likely hitting the other tower. Tens of thousands would have died. A few years later, the truck bomb of one of the African embassies prematurely exploded outside the compound’s wall. Later, a bomb designed to sink a ship exploded next to the U.S.S. Cole. Clinton did not use these events to alert the public that the U.S. was at war with Al-Qaeda. The terrorist goal was to provoke the decadent Western Civilization into actions which would undermine itself. (In fairness, Clinton warned the Bush II administration, but Bush II ignored the warning and was provoked.)
If any one of these bombings had come closer to the number of expected murders, especially that of 2/26/93, would U.S. agencies have put in place procedures that would have prevented 9/11? If Bill Clinton had adequately warned the U.S public, the same question?
